Pak-Germany Relations: Islamabad- Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb met German Ambassador Alfred Girnas and discussed mutual interest and increasing bilateral cooperation.
According to the report, German Ambassador Alfred Gernas met with Minister of Information Maryam and Nagzeb in which they discussed other issues including the proposal of cooperation with University of Babelsburg and University of Television and Film Munich.
The Information Minister apprised the German Ambassador about the Film and Culture Policy and the incentives under it. Maryam Aurangzeb said that we want to show the beauty, culture and civilization of Pakistan to the whole world through screen tourism.
The Information Minister said that foreign filmmakers should benefit from special concessions in filming and filming in Pakistan.
The Information Minister said that Pakistani students want the cooperation of German institutions for technical training in film, art and culture. Film, art and culture can be promoted by cooperation between Germany and Pakistani private educational institutes.
Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb appreciated the services of German NGOs in Pakistan and thanked them for the aid of 184 million euros for the flood victims.
The Information Minister informed the German Ambassador that the volume of bilateral trade is 4 billion dollars which needs to be increased. He said that with the establishment of Iqbal Goethe Art and Culture Center in Berlin, the people of the two countries will come closer to each other.
The Information Minister also appreciated the German media for reporting the situation in Pakistan in an objective and unbiased manner. He said that a delegation of German journalists’ organization is expected to visit Pakistan next month.
German Ambassador Alfred Gernas also appreciated the Minister of Information’s efforts to promote film and culture.
