Mumbai: The officer who arrested Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in a drug case has passed away.
According to media reports, the Indian investigative agency CBI has started the investigation by registering a case against anti-narcotics officer Sameer Wankhede.
Sameer Wankhede is accused of demanding Rs 25 crore (Indian rupees) as a bribe in return for not arresting Aryan Khan in the cruise drug case.
Aryan Khan, the son of Shah Rukh Khan, was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics during a raid on a cruise ship party two years ago.
Aryan Khan was charged with drug possession and being part of an international drug gang. He spent 26 days in jail after his arrest, after which he was granted bail.
In March last year, the team investigating the case issued its report that no evidence of drugs was found with Aryan Khan, he is not part of any international drug trafficking gang, due to irregularities in the cruise ship raid. was taken into custody.
In its response to the report, the NCB said that the first two courts had rejected bail in these cases, so we cannot say that the action taken by the bureau was wrong.
According to NCB sources, the purpose of forming the SIT was to look at the corruption angle in the case, it is for the courts to decide, NCB officers were targeted on unfair grounds and NCB regarding the case. Many allegations were leveled against the officers by politicians and people with bad faith.
