Democracy in the developing states like Pakistan, has become nothing more than a joke now. The Senate passed the anti-disqualification bill by a majority, according to which the disqualification period will be 5 years and the announcement of the election date will be withdrawn from the President and handed over to the Election Commission. At the same time, the privileges of senators and members of the assembly were also increased and this bill was also approved by the majority. Fazlur Rehman met the Prime Minister and discussed the country’s politics. Sharjeel Memon stood up in the assembly and said that not even one’s father can stop him from coming to Karachi.
Is the public interested in this news now? Who is doing what in the country, and who is not doing what? The people are no longer interested in this news at all nor are they concerned with these matters. The reason is that people are dying to fight inflation. When you wake up every morning, ten or twenty rupees have been added to one or the other.
The Bills passed by the Senate and the Assemblies have not kept anything for the people. People are being given lollipops through these bills. The expenses incurred on these meetings are taken out of the public’s pocket, but the public has no interest in these meetings, nor is there anything left for the public.
If we look at the history of all the meetings held, the benefit given to the ruling party, not even a percentage of it is available to the people. These people are elected and serve only themselves, and their families, and their families are pampered by the public treasury. Apart from that, there is no purpose. When the elections come, those who claim to be the servants of the people are seen in the streets. But those who win never come back, and those who lose are connived with to collect their money. This does nothing for the people who are suffering from poverty and inflation.
Politics is a service, but it is a luxury business in the homeland. Invest as much money as you can here, and receive it later with interest. Invest once and put your family and your family’s support in the government treasury forever. We praise other countries, we borrow from other countries, and we give examples of other countries, but we cannot work like these countries. If they act like these countries and practice democracy like them, hardly anyone will be seen as left in politics. Otherwise, everyone will seem to give priority to their business and job. Because then only free service will remain in politics. Where no one will be able to do business, how will the handi stove of the housework?
In Pakistan, politics in the name of Democracy, is considered as the best business. If a scoundrel of tomorrow becomes an MNA, MPA, or ministerial adviser, then police mobiles are seen blaring sirens in front of him and he sits in a bulletproof car, twirling his mustache and smiling contemptuously at the public. The wind passes majestically in the form of a caravan. And those who voted for him are sitting on the assumption that our problem may be solved now or tomorrow. But these problems have not been solved since independence and the problems will never be solved in the future even with this system in place. Even so, a few ticks and a few government jobs ahead of the sellers will surely be seen shouting slogans behind them.
The situation of the recent election of Mayor Karachi is in front of everyone. The way the PPP elected the mayor was no longer a secret matter. But when the problems could not be solved in the government of the PPP in Sindh for 15 years, why will these problems be solved in the four-year term of a mayor? A commissioner cannot control the price of milk, so the rest comes much later. Karachiites are now hoping that the boom comes with a downfall. Today PPP is on the rise and this rise has become a punishment for the people. However, when it starts its journey toward decline, the world will also see that this party too will be no slouch. Just as today PTI has become a part of the past, just as Q-League has become a part of the past, and just as other parties have become a part of history, their time will surely come.
According to Sharjeel Memon, as many mega projects have been started in Karachi, no other district of Sindh has done so much work. Sharjeel Memon is probably forgetting that Karachi is the backbone not only of Sindh but of the entire of Pakistan. By receiving 1000 rupees from here and giving back 2 rupees, you think that we shot a big arrow, then that is your misunderstanding. In terms of population, Karachi is not being upgraded as it should be. Here you need to work day and night, but here you rest day and night. And there is a tendency to start to work a few days before the budget and elections, the rest of the year the rulers sleep.
In the 15-year government, the water problem of Karachi was not solved, the transport problem in Karachi was not solved, the roads of Karachi are still in ruins, and more than sixty percent of the area of Karachi is still deprived of basic facilities. The condition of government schools in Karachi has gone from bad to worse. You talked about the government hospitals of Karachi there is standard treatment here, then what do your leaders go abroad to do? Why don’t you people take advantage of these facilities? As much as the budget is kept for the unique income support program, if you spend the same budget on education, health, and setting up factories, then the people will not have to be poor on the streets and receive ten thousand rupees, but they will become self-sufficient by working in the factories. But this work is not just for you people.
Today, the people are completely disgusted with the rulers. Because the people know that now they have to solve the problems themselves. Sewerage in your street is to be done by yourself. Water should be watered with your own money. A youth cannot even get a job in his country’s private sector by studying in a dead education system. In such a situation, he has to support his family by carrying the burden of degrees himself. Because this is your people’s democracy and your people’s vision, in which the aim is to suppress the people and not provide them with facilities.
Today, the youth is worried about going out of the country. Because now only those people will remain in this country who will be in politics. It is difficult for the rest of the common man to live in this country. Where justice had to wander. Despite education, jobs have to be humiliated. In such a situation, the easiest solution is to go out of the country and search for your life. Because the situation here is no longer such that the people have any hope for the ruler. As long as democracy remains a business, the country will not progress.
