MI and ISI refused to detain anchor Imran Riaz

Islamabad: The Military Intelligence (MI) and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) refused to detain journalist and anchor Imran Riaz and filed this reply in the Lahore High Court.

According to Express News, at the request of Imran Riaz’s father, Lahore High Court Chief Justice Amir Bhatti heard the request. Advocate Azhar Siddique, the lawyer of Imran Riaz, said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Chief Minister, among others, have been made parties in this petition.

The Chief Justice said that if Imran Riaz’s recovery is made a political case, I will not be able to hear it. Before your request, I have made an order. To secure Imran Riaz’s life, we have issued instructions and written to him, which will be answered soon.

DIG Legal told the court that MI and ISI have categorically denied the detention of Imran Riaz. Similarly, DIG Investigation stated in the court that ISI and MI have said that Imran Riaz is not with them.

Chief Justice Amir Bhatti said that the court desired to recover Imran Riaz, but the court did not ask for a report on who arrested him, it was not done. It is not said who did or did not arrest him.
