Mehdi Hasan opened the Interview by asking a question that certainly would lie in the hearts, wondering about the importance of the Topic as to why the world should listen to an Ex-Prime Minister of a poor state. He initiated by asking, “Why should Americans care about the ongoing Political turmoil and violence in Pakistan?
Who is Mehdi Hasan?
Mehdi Hasan is an award-winning British journalist, broadcaster, author and political commentator. He is the presenter of both UpFront (filmed in Washington DC) and Head to Head (filmed at the Oxford Union). Mehdi is a senior contributor at the The Intercept (TI), and host of TI’s Deconstructed podcast. He was titled being one of the 100 ‘most influential’ Britons on Twitter. He was also among the annual global list of ‘The 500 Most Influential Muslims’ in the world (‘The Muslim 500’).
Why this Interview got huge Importance?
Under the cover of 9thMay incidents in Pakistan, all the opposite parties finally got a reason to ban Imran Khan on the screen throughout the media.
However, blocking and banning Khan on the screens effected negative on the Illegitimate powers, and could not expell Khan behind the scenes. People of South Asia love Resistance and sympathise with the Oppressed Parties, this is their basic Psychie. Thus, people share Khan and his Ideology with more power after this and are even more adamant on their stance to support him.
Mehdi Hasan, before the final show of this interview, was being considered a tough Interviewee, who was going to make Khan left speechless. On the contrary, he seemed to be more professional and critical on the current Regime in Pakistan.
He clearly admitted that this Regime in Pakistan was really a nuisance and have proven all the previous expectations from these Parties as Wrong and a mere Eyewash.
Pakistani media on the other hand does not seem to realise this, and is till date trying hard Not to admit the Mistake of Establishment but toeing on their agendas blindly. In this struggle, some groups are earning good money which they were not being able to fulfil during Khan government. But in this race, they have harmed Journalism so bad, that people are now fully aware of the behind the scene, untold facts, and see these Official Media reps as Hypocrits. This is such a big loss to the Journalism in Pakistan that can not be recovered in the coming half century at the very least.
So conventional and electronic media has badly lost its credibility in Pakistan, this must be kept in mind before putting the people its blame and allegations of hate mongering. While its the TV channels and Newspapers who display intellectual dishonesty and spread lies 24/7. Which leader has the greatest chunk of viewership? Extracting data of social media and analysing it can answer these questions will answer these questions for the decision makers.
The anchors on these channels also seem to not realsing the fact that they are the ones who are keeping their credibility themselves on stake. People have seen pokitical parties boycotting some TV Channels, and favouring others, but they have never seen, Journalists and anchors banning or favouring the ban on a Single political party. Here we see personal grudges and business objectives, pursuing which these elements have badly hurt Pakistan and its image abroad.
Mehdi Hasan interview was of a huge importance in this.As this could reflect the thoughts of West about the Current political crisis in Pakistan.

Reaction of this Interview on Twitter was mixed with all types of emotions. But mostly people appreciated the approach of Mehdi Hasan and his present mindedness with a witty attitude. Especially when he interrupted Khan and tried to remind him the so called “Attrocities” during his temure. Imran Khan on the other hand was alao admired for on Point answers to such harsh but necessary question. Not to ignor the fact that such practices and slight media Trials are effective and important to disrupt and burst a special type of Narrative.
